Manufacturer's Description

HD IPS LCD with VIERA Image Viewer, VIERA Link and Game Mode
The wide 178°* viewing angle ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight's wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. *Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.

It's easy to view images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and videos on the large screen. An easy-to-see, easy-to-use thumbnail display has also been added. You can also enjoy special background music, slideshow frames and transition effects.

VIERA Link allows the interlinked operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable.

In Game Mode, quicker image response increases the enjoyment of video games when a game console is connected to the TV. What's more, VIERA produces the dark images in video games more clearly. This mode works with the anti-image retention (wobbling) function, too.

V-Audio Surround produces a depth-sound-image effect by early-reflection data based on actual room measurement, that is generated from the digital signal processor.

    A great Panasonic TV5
This gives you the best in LCD TVs'. Easily set up straight from the box. It self tunes all available Freeview and Analogue TV programmes. No need to twiddle with the picture or sound settings as they are pre-set to be perfect.A beautiful sleek black cabinet completes this very nice bit of kit.You can ask no more of any TV. Ten gold star rating would be nearer the mark I believe.

Superior quality and the headphones don't cut-off the speaker volume.5
Purchased recently for my Dad and Mum who are in their eighties.

My Dad described receiving this TV and setting it up as like having a Christmas present. He cannot sing its praises highly enough!

We purchased a Toshiba 32AV713B 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready Digital LCD TV with Freeview first and some of the comments are based on comparisons with this model. We were lucky to pay only £60 more for the Panasonic (both from Amazon) but the average price difference between the two is at least £100 which may explain some of the quality differences.

Overall the quality is well above the Toshiba which itself has numerous excellent comments for the previous comparable model.

The Panasonic quality of manufacture is excellent. Default picture settings are easy on the eye.

The user guide is very well written and easy to follow. Especially recommended for the elderly as it gives clear, concise, well explained instructions with good cross referencing.

My mother is hard of hearing and listens through headphones at high volume whilst my father and anyone else use the normal speakers. No Panasonic TVs cut-off the speaker volume when headphones are inserted (Panasonic Dealer).

The Toshiba AV model TV along with all other makes to my knowledge cuts off the speaker volume when the headphone jack is inserted this clearly did not suit my parent's needs. Toshiba Support told me that the RV and XV models do allow the speaker volume and headphone output to work at the same time.

This TV also allows the headphone volume level to be adjusted independently from the speaker volume.

The Information banner is very useful and allows you to look at what's on other channels whilst viewing the current one.

The front facing surround is pleasing to the eye and is not so reflective as to detract from viewing the screen. The Toshiba surround is reflective and can distract the eye.

Connection to the base is very well designed for holding the TV level. (We returned the Toshiba because it was not standing level.)

Overall this is a superb product.

    will it last?3
I bought the earlier tx 32lxd7m model for my mother. I agree with the comments on picture quality and ease of setup but after 18 months the picture would not always come on at start up. This got worse and it is now being repaired. Having researched this fault online it appears that this is a common experience - so doubts about reliability need to be considered. Probably would not buy another after this.
